The Project

Legacy Senior Living, located in Defiance, Ohio, is a Senior Living community offering Assisted Living and Memory Care services, as well as a townhome patio villa neighborhood for Independent Senior Living. The community is situated on a picturesque 21-acre parcel located on Latchaw Drive in Defiance, Ohio. The site is adjacent to the ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital, separated by a tree-lined creek. Pro-medica was the seller of the property and has become one of our local business partners. The Legacy Senior Living Community Campus will contain an 84,049-sf main campus building consisting of 65 Assisted Living units (AL), 29 Memory Care units (MC), surrounded by a 60-unit Independent Living (IL) Townhome Villa neighborhood. Ally Development began developing the site in early 2024, with its operating partner, Legacy Living, a senior living operator based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Location

Defiance, Ohio is in northern Ohio, 55 miles southwest of Toledo and 44 miles northeast of Ft Wayne, IN, off State Highway 24. Ally Development selected this premier location within the Defiance market because of its proximity to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital and to U.S. Highway 24, making the location ideal for our senior living community. The 21-acre site was purchased from ProMedica, which is a local business partner supporting the development.

Development & Ownership Structures

The Legacy Senior Living of Defiance is being developed in partnership with Ally Development and Legacy Living. Ally strongly believes in creating strong partnerships with operators, like Legacy Living, having the developer, operator and investment partners all share ownership in the real estate asset and the operations. Ally believes that this type of mutual structure aligns the interests of the developer, the investor, and the operator, making Legacy Senior Living Defiance successful.
